Hi Earth People!

Hello, Earthlings! I want to begin by saying that I'm not a hippie (not that's there's anything wrong with being one!). But it seems like people think only hippies care about the environment or our impact on the Earth and that's not true at all. I'm quite Gothic in style and such, and it's always been a bit insulting to have people think I can't care about the environment because I'm not a hippie. So, that being said I'd like to tell you a bit about myself, what I do, and maybe why I've made this blog. (:

First, my name is Raven Goldwood. (It's real, I swear!) My father in law gave me the nickname Veni, so there's that. (: Environmental Veni.
I, Veni, am 22 years old and a native American/Czech female. I am married to a German male named Bryan. Does this matter? I dunno. Figured I'd include it! We got together in high school (2011) and got married this last October on Friday the 13th. We have three dogs together and I have a bearded dragon. Our dogs are Pandora (4 yrs), Pyrrha (2 yrs) and Prudence (4 mo) and the beardie is Ripley (2 yrs). (:

I've always cared about the environment, but being a child in someone else's home made it difficult to do the things I desired. How does a child make a household go green when they don't want to do it? Quite simply, they usually don't. However, I am now an adult and actually able to do a small part in keeping Mother Earth a bit healthier.

We currently are renting out our third bedroom to a couple who is less than eco friendly, and it can be a struggle. Not that they have a problem tossing their cans and plastic bottles into the right bins. But all the plastic bags, the plastic wrapping on everything, etc. It's a nuisance. I figured that eventually I would touch into that subject in the future: Living with People Who Aren't Green, or something like that. (:

This is just a bit of a hello post, so I won't be going into detail about various things, and I won't be talking about ways that you can help or start helping. That'll all come later. For now, I'm just happy to have found a way to get my thoughts and ideas out into the world!
